1 Peter 4:1-4 Jesus suffered and died in the flesh so that His people would die to the flesh. When they suffer for the cause of Christ, they show that they have ceased to live in the sin. The way of the Gentiles, however, is a way of death that leads Gentiles to slander believers who refuse to participate in the way of death.
